Last Tuesday was my hand in date for my latest project. I had to create 4 Embroidery final samples and 6 Print final samples. I have enjoyed that project so much and will definitely be experimenting more with print! These are my two most successful embroidery pieces, which are made up of hand and machine embroidery techniques, along with fabrics I dyed myself.
I think my print samples worked well, however as a beginner I still need to practice my printing skills as some of them weren't as successful as I had wanted them. But practice makes perfect!
We were given our new assignment brief for the next project last week, and for the first task we have to collect a 100 different pieces of paper, ranging from metro ticket size to A1. I have already started collecting these, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Stewart & Co.
If you're looking for a small cosy place to tuck in to some delicious food I would definitely recommend Stewart and Co. On the menu are homemade fish fingers and chips with their skin on, along with a range of soups and sandwich's.
The atmosphere was friendly, and the table settings and scenery were quirky. It seemed like a great place to meet a friend for a quick meal, or to have a relaxing coffee while relaxing on the large leather sofas take a look through their book collection.
Anyone with a sweet tooth has got to check out the deserts counter, which holds a large selection of fabulous looking cakes and puddings!
I would definitely recommend checking this place out, but if you are intending to visit watch out as they are planning on changing the name of it!

Situated along from Stewart & Co, this gorgeous gift shop is the perfect place to pop into to have a look around after your lunch. It sells a range of fabulous gifts, gift wrap and cards. You could spend hours having a look through the shelves and taking in all the different card designs.
Its also fabulous as they give 10% discount to students who hold an NUS card, which is always a bonus!!

Although these two gift shops have the same niche: gorgeous unique gifts, they are both completely different. You don't find any of the same items in either of them, and you get a completely different feel when you walk in to either of them. I thought the gift wrap in Y&L was gorgeous and would definitely be visiting again for inspiration on techniques for my own work in future. The gifts in Y&L felt more traditional than the previous store, but still absolutely gorgeous.
