Interactive Children's Wallpapers

I have recently handed in my Final Minor Project of my third, and final, year at Cleveland College of Art and Design. My aim was to create a range of children's wallpapers, both digital and hand printed, with an interactive theme.

I used a very fresh and crisp colour theme.

I printed a wallpaper length of my three hand drawn designs. The animal print has flocking and expandtex on to create furry textures for the children to touch.

I created a wallpaper sample book with all my designs and colour ways in instead of separate design sheets.

Third Year!

I have neglected my blog for quite a while over the summer, but I'm back!
I am now back at CCAD for my third, and final, year of my degree. I have absolutely hit the ground running this year, and am busy completing my dissertation and Minor Project. For my Minor Project I am working on a collection of children's wallpapers.

Tim Walker- Dreamscapes

I visited Bowes Museum on Monday to see the Dreamscape exhibition by Tim Walker. I have loved Tim Walkers work for a few years now, and couldn't wait to go see the exhibition.

All the photographs on display were on light boxes- which made the images look incredible!

The exhibition is on until the 1st September, so if you get the chance, I would definitely recommend going!

I have to do some drawing for my next project once I'm back to uni. Going to keep the title I have chosen hush-hush for a little while longer- but here are a few of my drawings from today...

Belsay Hall- Jane Austen Dresses

I visited Belsay Hall the other day to see the costumes from film and TV adaptations of some of Jane Austen's most famous stories. The dresses were absolutely gorgeous! and the detailing in some of them was amazing!

The exhibition is still on until the 26th August- and I would definitely recommend a visit if you can!

Perks of the Job

Alongside studying at Cleveland College of Art and Design, I also work at a lettings agent in Jesmond. Today I was at a gorgeous house in Jesmond and thought I would share some photographs I took of the roses on the terrace, and also the cute courtyard it had.

I also took a trip to Longsands Beach at Tynemouth this evening- where the sky was gorgeous!

Society6

I have been thinking about getting an account on Society6 for a while- a today I actually got round to doing it.

Society6 is a website that you can upload your own designs onto and then they will print and produce the items such as iPhone cases, cushions and canvases when someone buys one.

New Designers, London 2013

I have just returned from a trip to London to see the New Designers show. After a stressful start (I missed my train!) I was on my way to London, and when I got there I realised how much I love London. I haven't been back since my placement last year and I just loved being back there again. The first thing I did when I got there Wednesday was head to St Paul's Cathedral. I had planned to go last year but never got round to it so this time I was definitely going! Like I thought I would- I loved it! But couldn't get 'Feed The Birds' from Mary Poppins out my head all day!

From St Paul's I walked down and across the river and headed for the Fashion and Textile Museum by London Bridge. Like I had been told by a friend it is a very small museum but it had a really interesting exhibition on about Kaffe Fassett. The colours of the exhibition were all gorgeous- and I loved his drawings.

Thursday morning I headed straight to New Designers in Islington. New Designers is a show held every year for graduates from Universities and Colleges from all around the country to exhibit at. I'm hoping to be able to exhibit next year so wanted to go down and see what it was like. It was fab seeing what other courses produced and see what other students have produced. Very daunting to think that could be me next year! Fingers Crossed!!

From New Designers I headed for the National History Museum as I never made it to that last year either. I also visited the Royal Academy of Art's degree show in Kensington. There weren't many students that had produced textiles for interiors but there was one student who had used Swarovski diamonds on an interior pattern which was gorgeous! After leaving the degree show I started walking through Hyde Park and found the
